Agentis Air

Internship: Engineering Research and Development

Agentis Air is a startup run out of Rockville, MD creating portable air filter technology.

Fan Balancer

The company was having trouble with imbalanced 3D-printed fan blades. I was tasked with creating a system to test the fan blade’s symmetry as well as balance the fans for further testing.

This system is comprised of an extruded aluminum base with mounted bearings. Later a motor mount attachment was implemented to test the fans at higher speeds.

Custom 3D printed Motor Mount

Iteration 1:

Motor Extension

This entire system was designed and assembled in Solidworks. Most of the parts were purchased from McMaster-Carr and then assembled in the Agentis Air lab.

The motor mount was custom-designed for our motor and 3D printed in our lab.

Single Pass Efficiency Testing

This is a single-pass efficiency testing apparatus. This system can test the single-pass efficiency of an air filter by counting the particle concentration before and after the filter.

This testing setup is all custom-built and designed in Solidworks. All white parts are custom-designed and manufactured using a Prusa 3D printer. The electronics consist of two Arduinos each with a single particle counter.
